The Osage River Tactical Duffle offers rugged storage for outings to the range, gym, or travel destinations. With its 600D ballistic nylon construction, this duffle bag is durable enough for any adventure. You will have 1,800 cubic inches of storage space to pack your gear and accessories. The bag measures 18 inches long, 12 inches wide, and 11 inches high to offer adequate storage for all your items. Two pockets are located at the ends of the duffle bag, and another 4 pockets are located on the front of the bag so you can store smaller items like a cell phone, sunglasses, or toiletries. After a year of use this bag has been a real work horse. (First off it was $30 so I wasn't expecting much. The hand/shoulder strap material is kind of thin and light weight, but has been no problem. I originally thought the small exterior pockets wouldn't be useful, I was wrong. I've found them to be extremely useful.
The overall dimensions of the bag is exactly what I wanted, it's to be used for an overnight bag when I travel, I wanted some thing to carry a few things into the hotel so I didn't have to carry in my suitcase. It serves that purpose and others very well. I've found it to be a great go anywhere bag.

This is a good, solid, tactical bag. I use it for all my shooting accessories I take to the shooting range. It is not super-heavy-duty but it is not cheap. I would purchase this bag again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a bag of this type.

1. At $30, the price is very good.

2. The design is outstanding. The weight is very light. Heavy duty zippers work smoothly. There are eight usable pockets.

3. There is attention to detail. For example, the handle straps are spot stitched to the side of the bag. An additional horizontal webbing is stitched over the four spots and across the entire length of the bag. This technique reinforces the handles and distributes the weight across the entire bag.

4. There is a stiff plastic insert for the bottom. This allows the carrying of heavy stuff without sagging or deforming the bag.
.
5. As a gym bag, it is only adequate. At minimum, there is enough room for a pair of shoes, shorts, tee-shirt, and towel. One of the end pocket holds three 8-ounce containers of toiletries. The other holds a zip-lock bag of first aid supplies, wallet, and a cell phone. The three front pockets carry my keys, an eye glass case, and hand flash light. The large zippered pocket behind two front pockets hold my cell phone and important documents.

DISADVANTAGES

1. The web page and package card mention a LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY several times. The details are not explained. When asked by a few users, the company failed to comment.

2. The plastic web-like material is very thin. So, durability is unknown. A better option is plastic coated thick canvas or 1000D polyester.

3. On the two front pockets with plastic buckles, the webbing is too short. For this reason, they come off too frequently. Make them longer or use Velco instead.

To make the OSAGE RIVER product perfect, I have three suggestions:

1. Install nylon mesh netting INSIDE each end of the bag to hold water bottles or soda cans upright. There is enough space for two bottles side-by-side on each end.
.
2. On the outside back of the bag, construct two slip pockets with Velcro strips - like the ones on the ends of the bag. Do the same inside the bag on both sides. This will increase the number of usable pockets by six. The user is able to store documents, ID and credit cards, memo tablets, bandages, pencils, small paperback books, lip balm, small tubes of ointment and lotion, nail clipper, and other personal necessities.

3. Use SBS zippers and sliders for durability and performance.
.
The extra and higher quality materials and additional manufacturing/labor costs for the proposed improvements will push the price up to $40. This is still reasonable for buyers wanting the ultimate tactical duffel bag that will last for years - a quality product that no other competing vendor is able to match.

2. The plastic construction material is not durable. The bottom edges and corners are wearing out. One to two woven strands have broken on the body. In time, a hole will eventually develop.

UPDATE 2: After 1.5 years of continuous usage, the edges are fraying. So, I am looking for a replacement. EAST WEST, NEXPAK, AND NPUSA brands are horrible. They are cheaply made and fall apart in a short time.

In the final analysis, OSAGE RIVER is not perfect; but it is the best of the alternatives.

UPDATE 3: On the second year, one of the four plastic feet fell off. The bottom was also wearing away to point that a hole was developing. As mentioned above, the 600D fabric was just too thin to meet the rigors of a gym bag. So, the product was tossed into the garbage.
