Zero Tolerance Sinkevich Knives

Custom knife and toolmaker, Dmitry Sinkevich, has collaborated with Kershaw and Zero Tolerance to achieve some of the most elegant, everyday carry folding pocket knives designed with clean lines, sleek looks and solid ergonomics. With practical design and enhanced detailing, Sinkevich’s characteristic clean and practical design is adorned by knife lovers everywhere.

Sinkevich Features

knife blades, blade coating, blade finish, kershaw blades, kershaw blade features, knife coating

Attractive Blade Finish

Famous for choosing elements that enhance engineering and design, Kershaw sometimes applies two different finishes on a single blade to increase a knife’s overall durability and visual impact. One example among many such dual finishes involves a satin finish on the grinds and sanded satin finish on the flats to create a two-toned look that reduces reflective glare and showcases the blade’s bevel.

Fast Deployment

Using 'caged' ball bearings for smooth blade deployment and overcoming stronger knife detent, the KVT Ball-Bearing Opening System makes one-handed knife opening fast and easy without the need of a mechanical assist. Ball-bearings surround and freely rotate around the pivot. When the user pulls back on the flipper, the blade rotates out of the handle as the ball bearings roll into place.

Secure Locking System

Kershaw’s frame lock design makes knives safer, securer, sturdier and quicker for one-handed blade deployment. The knife handle, or frame, has two metal plates on either side of the blade, and when open, the lockbar butts up against the blade’s backend to prevent blade closure. To close the knife blade, push the frame to the side to unlock the blade and fold the blade back into the handle.

Additional Features

knife flipper, flip open, flip open knifes, switchblade knives, assisted opening knives, switchblade

durable handles, knife handles, handle features, knife handle types, pocketknife handle

knife pocketclips, kershaw pocketclip, pocketknife pocketclip, knife clips, pocketclip

Manual-Open Flipper

Flippers on manual-open knives require user to push with quick strength until blade deploys. Some manual flippers disappear when blade deploys, others become a finger guard. Manual flippers appeal to inexperienced users as well as experienced users who prefer a classic, old-style opening. In both cases, ambidextrous flipper works as index finger applies pressure while closed knife sits in palm.

Durable Handle

Titanium is a lightweight metal alloy and it offers excellent corrosion resistance. Heavier than aluminum but still lightweight and strong, titanium is a very sturdy material often used in knife handles, locking liners, or as a blade coating to enhance performance. Titanium is a sleek, stylish, premium material that’s excellent for the ideal everyday carry.

Convenient Pocketclip

Kershaw designs pocketclips to fit specific knives according to their weight, intended end use, size, style and hardware. Some knives have multiple carry options, others are more streamlined. A pocketclip with tip-up carry is positioned so the closed knife carries in the pocket with the tip of its blade pointed upwards. A reversible tip-up or tip-down pocketclip allows user to change tip position.

Product Description

Zero Tolerance and Belarusian custom knife maker Dmitry Ninkovich have teamed up to produce the 0456, offering premium cutting power and standout looks that deserve admiration. Inspired by Dmitry’s popular custom knife, The Pole, the 0456 features 3-D rayed handle contours and unique custom blade shape. The 3. 25” blade is made with CPM-20CV for exceptional wear resistance, edge retention and corrosion resistance. The 0456 is equipped with ZT’s KVT ball-bearing system, for a quick, easy blade release. A titanium frame lock, with a hardened steel lock bar insert, firmly secures the blade open during use. The pivot mechanism, custom aluminum back spacer, and left/right reversible pocket clip are finished in a brilliant blue, adding to the 0456’s overall handsome appearance. Made in the USA by Zero Tolerance’s masterful knife makers in Tualatin, Oregon, a well-balanced design and premium material composition make the 0465 the perfect companion on any bold adventure.

I am no knife expert, law enforcement professional or police officer.

I have had mostly cheap Chinese made knives. The best knife I had was an imported Buck knife. So I am not into the latest carbon steels etc.

I wanted an American made knife that was manageable in my pocket that I could use for mostly breaking down big heavy duty card board boxes and other misc. tasks. I was tired of the poor quality steel, fit and finish and just didn't trust them. The knives I had were good for abuse and I did not care about them. Of course if you stress your knife then that is where quality starts to come up. I am not saying that China or any other country can't make a great knife because they can. I have nothing against any country. I do care about details and craftsmanship and want something that will last. Most of the imported knives were very nice until you look close.

So when you research American made pocket knives the cost on these things can get really insane. I want quality but I also don't want to spend $400 on a pocket knife!! The steels and locking or folding mechanism seem to be the most important and of course this model has all the latest technical feature you want in a knife in this category and slightly less expensive than some other brands. There is a range of course on Zero Tolerance knives and the least expensive are around $180 going into limited editions costing $500. This model sits on the higher middle end side of things on the ZT website with an MSRP of $300. The price on Amazon is good.

As to the knife itself it is simply a pleasure. It seems as though it was made for my hand. It feels very solid but because of the titanium handles it is very light. The handle detail is really cool and reminds me of art deco designs of the 1930's but still retains a modern look. The handle is really well made and finished. The blue screw, pocket clip and back of the knife are all really cool details. The size is really good as it is compact but the blade is no joke. Really sharp and I love the shape of the blade. The one finger opening system is awesome. The knife opens easily and securely every time and does not feel dangerous. Everything on this knife is well made and designed and the materials really fit the design.

It is an expensive knife but it is extremely well built, American made, and should last a lifetime. Unless I lose it or this thing breaks or can't keep an edge which ZT will sharpen for you for free it will be the last pocket knife I need to buy. If I keep it ten years then the cost is $24 a year which is about what I was spending yearly - probably more on cheaper knives.

Once you hold this knife you will not want to let it go. Artfully designed and tough as nails!! Awesome!

Wow.

This knife nothing short of stunning. The blade shape is absolutely perfect for every day tasks, and it's made of CTS 204P steel - one of the best steels on the market today. The decorative milling in the thick, Titanium handle gives it great traction, and is incredibly sexy. The blue stainless steel pivot and pocket clip match the aluminum spacer perfectly, and add a great pop of color. If looks are your thing, it's a show stopper...but beauty is just the beginning.

The fit and finish on this knife is truly awe inspiring. Blade lock up is rock solid, centering is spot on (as always with ZT), and it came razor sharp out of the box. They've also done away with the double-sided pivot that was causing people headaches by coming loose. The lock-side of the pivot is a stationary hex bolt, which makes taking the knife apart for cleaning much easier as well. Love it.

A lot of reviews I've read say it's a "hefty" knife, but unless you're clipping it to silky dress pants you won't even feel it. It fills the hand nicely, the ergonomics are wonderful, and there are no hot spots. It doesn't take up an entire pocket like some longer knives do, and it rides extremely well on jeans and khakis.

Last, but certainly not least, is the deployment. Holy cow. This is the absolute pinnacle of the KVT ball bearing pivot. It's just buttery smooth. A fair bit of pressure is required to pass the detent, but once you're passed it the blade just flies out of the handle. The blade locks with a wonderfully reassuring "thwack", and you're ready for work. The stainless steel insert on the frame lock is a nice touch, too.

I own several ZT knives (0562CF, 0770CF, 0450, 0095BW, etc), a few Benchmades, and a Sebenza 21, but this may be my new favorite EDC knife. The ergonomics are comfortable, the blade shape is superb, the materials are second to none, and the fit and finish just screams quality. It's just a stunningly beautiful perfectly functional EDC knife, and a crowning achievement for ZT.

TLDR: Buy this. You won't be sorry.

I admit the main thing that drew me to this knife was its aesthetics and thankfully ZT used top quality materials and craftsmanship to make it not only beautiful but just fantastic all around. I love flicking this knife, the action as you flip it open is super smooth and the click of the titanium frame lock as it snaps into place screams quality. The CPM20CV steel blade is a luxury for me, I'll never truly put this steel to the test but for the few tree branches I've cut, boxes I've opened, and accidentally cutting my pinkie finger, this thing has stayed razor sharp.

Some have complained about the weight and size, but like with most things it differs from person to person. I personally don't have an issue with either and actually like a my pocket knives to have a little meat on their bones. I typically wear cargo pants and keep it clipped in one of the extra pockets and never notice it. If i'm wearing slacks obviously i notice it more but even my sleek Spydercos are noticeable in slacks.

I bought rh D knife and I really liked it but I had to return it. I can’t say 100% that it was but for $240 why take the chance. The problem I had was that the pivot and pocket clip where clearly a different color blue than the back spacer. The colors are suppose to be the same. This place s just a heads up. I uploade a pic too, of the backspacer and pocket clip in one shot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tolles Sammlermesser von Zero Tolerance!
Reviewed in Germany on April 13, 2017
