High-Performance SteelFeaturing superior toughness, excellent hardness and great wear resistance, S30V steel has high amounts of carbon and vanadium to provide superior edge-holding and abrasion resistance. S30V steel also offers users great corrosion resistance and improved ductility. With a chemical composition to prove it, S30V is a premium, high-performing steel great for everyday use. |
Coated BladesDiamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating is often even tougher than the blade steel underneath it. DLC-coated blades offer extra hardness, high corrosion resistance, excellent wear resistance and a low friction coefficient so particles do not easily attach to the blade. DLC coatings display properties similar to a natural diamond that add beauty and attractive shine. |
Fast DeploymentUsing a torsion bar to move the blade out of the handle, Kershaw’s revolutionary SpeedSafe Assisted Opening system enables smooth, secure, fast one-handed blade deployment. Apply manual pressure to the flipper or thumb stud with a light push or pull back to overcome resistance of the torsion bar, and the blade opens smoothly and locks into place for confident handling without premature closure. |
Secure Locking SystemWith two steel plates, or liners, on the inside of each handle scale, the liner locking system safely secures the blade open and prevents unwanted blade closure. The lockbar butts up against the blade’s backend to prevent closure, and angles or is bent towards the blade tang creating a bias locked position. Apply manual force to move the lockbar to the side and fold the blade back into the handle. |

Knives with SpeedSafe open have two options for one-handed blade deployment. To activate the smooth, instant open, user can push a thumbstud or press a flipper. The flipper on SpeedSafe assisted knives is easy to operate by both left- and right-handed users. And, once blade swings open and locks into place, flipper either disappears for aesthetics or remains visible for added finger protection. |
G-10 is a laminate composite, epoxy-filled woven glass fiber that is extremely stable, very lightweight, tough, hard, strong and unaffected by temperature changes. G-10 handles can be decoratively tinted, ground or polished in checkering, lines or other patterns to add texture. Excellent for heavy-use, tactical or utility knives, G-10 can be machined into shape providing a stronger grip. |
Kershaw designs pocketclips to fit specific knives according to their weight, intended end use, size, style and hardware. Some knives have multiple carry options, others are more streamlined. The 4-position pocketclip allows tip-up or tip-down carry on both the right and left sides, providing users the most versatility. Proper use of the pocketclip promotes safety and efficiency while using knife. |

My only issue so far is that the pocket clip screws were so tight that they stripped my Torx bit haha. So now I might buy the kershaw knife maintenance tool so ill be able to actually disassemble and clean my knife(usually there's a bit of gunk from the factory inside most knives). Although I haven't deep cleaned it yet it still opens and closes very smoothly. Now onto the blade itself. The blade is very pretty and the tiger stripe finish is done quite well. My sister has a minor phobia of knives but even she commented on how well the blade coating looked. But don't think that it can't do some tough chores for you when you need the job to get done. The blades recurve design and thickness give it great mileage as a hard use EDC. I like the fact that its handsome yet rough...like me ;D
The handle has relatively grippy G10 scales which feel quite nice to handle. The gimping on the knife is a little sharp but effective. I prefer gimping that is sharp rather than dull or undefined. It's handle fits well in my medium sized hands and doesn't feel too bulky or too small. When you deploy the knife, it comes out strong with a beefy SHALACK! Sound.
If you are on the fence about buying this knife, just go ahead and use amazons 1-click option on this item and get yourself something special ;)
EDIT 1/3/13: After a few days I noticed that the blade centering was off and started rubbing against the steel liner which made it difficult and unreliable under stress to deploy the blade. No damage was done to the DLC coating on the blade. I sent the knife to the zero tolerance warranty center to hopefully fix the blade centering issue. I will update this review after I get the knife back and I will let you guys know how good their warranty service is. Everything i have said in my review is still valid, however, I expected better from kershaw's "Cadillac" line of knives but only time will tell.
Two days ago I thought I'd give it another chance and today I received it. What a difference a few years makes! This is incredibly well built, easy to deploy, easy to close, easy to carry and very sharp. And it does not feel "too big" whatsoever. The only thing I'd change would be to round out the flipper tab. It's kind of sharp compared to the rest of the knife.
I mean sure, its just another black knife right?
The Tiger Stripe draws the eye for sure but there are other nice features as well. 2 of the very best features is that it came usably sharp right out of the box and its fit, finish and size is comfortable in my hand. I guess i should say the finish is great for a folding knife you can drop in your pocket. It shouldn't necessarily be compared to a well made full tang with a nice handle. different species of knife.
it is a quality folding knife from ZT. With the blade opened and locked there isn't a micron of movement that I can see. The liner lock is beefy, sturdy and engages the base of the blade perfectly. I'm not beating on this knife in an effort to do any "real world" strength tests. I'm just a consumer, this was an expensive purchase for me that no one is replacing. I've been fortunate to have a handful of really good knives. I believe this is another. Should I get the nerve up to risk putting a scratch on her, I'll update the good and the bad should there be any.
Now for some context. I paid around $125 for this blade with the sole purpose of reducing my EDC load. I used to carry a Cold Steel Spartan (8.7oz, 4.5" blade) and a SOG Trident Tanto (3.2oz, 3.75" blade). The pair did the job for most things, but carrying two large blades soon became too much for my EDC needs. While the SOG was light and had a larger blade, I personally think it felt 'cheap' in my hand, not to mention its impractical tanto blade style. The Spartan was my work horse. I pretty much did everything with that knife. With all that in mind, weight wasn't really an issue with this knife. The 5.8oz isn't as bad as some reviewers would have you think. As far as looks, it is drop dead gorgeous. The tiger stripe finish on the blade looks great and doesn't wear off like some other coatings.
TL;DR: Whether you are looking for your first blade or a replacement for your current setup, the ZT0350 TS is the way to go. Versatile in both length and weight, 4 different clip positions for all types of carry, lightning fast assisted opening, and solid lock down. Stop reading and buy it! Best knife under $150, and easily competes with knives 3x the price!

- Wertige Verarbeitung
- für ein Klappmesser Extrem Stabil
- Klinge aus Pulvermetallurgischem S30V Stahl.
- Lebenslange Garantie vom Hersteller Zero Tolerance.
Nachteile.
